Research Questions - Isabel Hambric

1. I am interested in writing and researching the wage gap.
2. I became interested in this topic when picking my major because in accounting there tends to be a lot more males in higher level positions then females. As a woman the subject bothers me when women are just as capable as men.
3.Women earn 79 cents to each dollar a man makes, women earn less than men in all but five occupations, even though women overall have more degrees then men the men still make more, more women take unpaid time off then men do.
4.Resonable people do disagree with the topic and often blame the wage gap on women wanting to stay home more and bear "household duties."
5.The topic should be fit for the time I have there are different kinds of research such as a lot of arguments about wage gap and history behind wage gap.
6. Wage gap decreasing, differences across country of wage gap, women choosing to make less, career choices and wage gap
7. How has history shaped women making less? How has history decreased the wage gap? Why are women still making less? What women have rose to success and how in a man dominated field? How does the typical stay at home mom stereotype affect the wage gap?
8. Economics, intra household, modernization, political

Research Question: Does the gender gap hold women back from approaching degrees outside the stereotypes expected from them?
