Annoying Ways
This article was very interesting due to its use of rhetorical elements such as pathos and logos. The author used humor as a form of pathos to keep the reader intrigued and to convey a point. In the beginning the author compares reading a bad essay to someone driving terribly. Through the use of this example the writers point is well explained and easy for the reader to understand and relate to. Later on in the article the writer goes on to compare when a writer just throws a quote into their paper without any warning that it is just like dating Spiderman. This is a great example due to the absurdity of the comparison between the two and comedic element it provides. I also really like how the author explains a common issue in student papers but then also provides a fix to this mistake as well as an example to help the reader understand. Bolding key parts and italicizing also provides a visual aspect to understanding the text, which I found to be very helpful. Overall, the way this article was written was very helpful and successful at conveying its message.
