Subversion and Redemption-Eric Heinrich

Overall, this text was an enjoyable work. It obviously leans toward comedy to show what a subversion of a work is. By opening by describing what parents do and don't want in a bedtime story, Patkin sets up the joke in the title of the book. Arguably the best thing about GTFTS is the reality that it came out of a real parents experience. This explains how a subversion works by showing that by changing a genre convention of a work makes it a satire of the original.
