Research Question

1. I am interested in researching my generation's discomfort with human connection due to the increase in technology in the past two decades.
2. This topic fascinates me because I feel like it is extremely relevant among my age group, so researching more on this topic will allow me to see what problems technology has created for my generation.
3.  An interesting fact that I've learned about this topic is that millennials are said to be a highly individualistic generation. So there is a noticeable difference between my generation's ability to connect in comparison to previous ones.
4. I  have not yet found disagreements towards this topic, but I will make an effort to look further into research that opposes my argument.
5. My topic is researchable, I have found multiple articles and TED talks regarding the social impact on my generation.
6. Many subtopics that have emerged are: the impact of technology on mental illness, my generation's addiction to social media whether it is a good or bad thing, how an increase in screen time may affect childhood development
7. Other questions I may research in the future:
How does technology impact the increase of mental illness within my generation?
Is it safe for children to interact with technology at such a young age?
How does technology affect child development, does it benefit mental growth or detriment it?
8. Vulnerability, Discomfort, Individual, Loner, Connection

Research Question: Has an increase in technology led to generation Z's discomfort with human connection?
