Subversion and Redemption

This reading begins with explaining how what parents want is for their child to go to sleep and not be awake from the day's activities.  The author explains how utilizing picture books, is calming to kids.  Furthermore,  the author talks about the children's books for adults and how they are subverted.  For example,  GTFTS, which is about "parental frustration and anger with an uncooperative toddler" (96).  What is subversive about it the author uses the F word commonly.  So, obviously it is not a kid's book.  Subversion is used in many forms as I have learned from this reading.
