Subversion and redemption

I thought it was interesting that the author talked about the fact that most children's books are subversive in some way or another. previously i had never thought about the fact that children's books are often used to address not only children's subjects but adult situations as well, just in a subversive. I found the history lesson on the "F" word quite fascinating. The concept of adding a curse word to a children's books is very interesting to me, the fact that it draws so much attention shows what one subversive detail can do for a piece of work.
